Throughout the event I started to grow quite fond of these dogs. I am amazed I was able to leave without taking them all home. As they grew more comfortable, I swear some of them even started smiling for me as I took their pictures. I think they could sense that things were looking up, and they were indeed in good hands. As they felt the love from the volunteers, their personalities and their smiles were starting to shine ... brighter than the sun.
